Obituary

Johnny Hunter, age 60, of Chaffee, MO passed away, on Tuesday, April 6th, 2021 at his residence.

He was born on July 23, 1960 in Kennett, MO, son of Ray E. Hunter and Sylvia G. (Bostic) Hunter.

John was a self-employed carpenter for many years. He was a member of the Baptist faith.
He loved to fish, camp, spend time outdoors, and play guitar. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Survivors include his two sons; Johnny (Jill) Hunter Jr. of Cape Girardeau, and Michael Mendoza of Scopus, MO; two sisters Cathy Gaines (Bob Wilson) of Joplin, MO, and Kathleen Schrum of Chaffee, MO; one brother Sam Gaines of Sikeston, MO; two sisters-in-law Joanne and Patty Hunter; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents Ray and Sylvia, four brothers Dennis, Carl, Terry, and Ricky Hunter, one sister Donna Cox, and two brother-in-law, Dwight Cox and Ronald L. Schrum.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

The arrangements were under the care of Liley Cremation Services in Cape Girardeau.
