Obituary

Lucille James age 93, of Marble Hill, MO; passed away, on Friday, January 29, 2021 at Woodland Hills in Marble Hill, Missouri.

She was born on November 03, 1927 in Zalma, Missouri; daughter of William “Mac” and Ora Moore Prater. She and Estel Elvin James were united in marriage on February 14, 1946 and he passed away on February 10, 2016.

Lucille worked for the hat and shoe factory as a sewer and was a member of the Palmore Chapel General Baptist Church.

Survivors include her son Mackie (Alice) James of Blytheville, Arkansas; daughters Paula (Gerald) McCoy of Jackson, Missouri; Linda (Franklin) Goza of Jennings, Missouri; brother Jerry Prater of Robertsville, MO, seven grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, son Elvin, brothers Clarence, Hardy, Don, Glenn, Raymond Prater, sisters Ena Winferd Prater, Caltha Ramsey, Ora Lee Mathis, Lettie Myers and four grandchildren.

In Lieu of Flowers donations may be given to St. Jude’s Hospital.

Visitation will be Tuesday, February 2, 2021 from 4 PM to 8:00 PM at the Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at 11:00 AM at the Funeral Home with Rev. Steven Sander officiating. Burial will follow in the Bollinger County Memorial Park Cemetery near Marble Hill, MO.
